D.R. Horton’s Tampa Bay division goes viral! | NHD Buzz Press Releases

Tampa, FL – D.R. Horton diversifies its online strategies by joining social media networks and industry-related websites.

Jonathan Torres, marketing and advertising coordinator at D.R. Horton Homes in the Tampa Bay region, said “with reduced marketing budgets and the growth of new media, we have to find new and more cost-effective ways to reach potential buyers. That’s why we’ve made a conscious effort in joining networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and even starting our own local blog. We’re also targeting websites that put us in front of active buyers and their realtors looking for new homes such as Realtor.com, NewHomeGuide.com, NewHomeSource.com, and BuilderInventoryDeals.com.”

Do Realtor blogs matter?

August 17, 2008 · 1 Comment

Quick, lock your windows.

Quick, lock your doors.

Like Bigfoot or the Chupacabra, I’ve heard the new tool for Realtors is blogging… yet I’ve never seen one. It doesn’t surprise me, but I can probably count on one hand the # of Realtors I’m actually impressed by. Most of them mean well, make a decent effort and have their customers best interest at heart, but that is certainly the minority. Like this blog post states, only 10% of Realtors are actually blogging making the chance of any Tampa Bay Realtors blogging even smaller. (Hint: If you’re a Realtor, you might actually want to start one.) I’m a recent first-time home buyer who’s in the business, needless to say I didn’t really need one to purchase my home. Whether you’re buying a home, car, or mp3 player, I’m sure it goes unsaid that there’s plenty of research that can be done online, but a blog might certainly give you some insight to whether or not they’re any good. If they’re taking the time and effort to keep up a blog, they’ll probably invest the same time and effort in their clients, then again maybe they just might have too much time on their hands. ;)

If you know of any TB Realtor blogs, pass them along!
